Little Shop of Horrors is a darkly comic, toe-tapping show packed with unforgettable songs, quirky characters, and just the right amount of menace.
Set on Skid Row, the story follows shy florist Seymour, his not-so-subtle crush Audrey, and a mysterious plant with a terrifying appetite. With music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman, Little Shop of Horrors is funny, fast-paced, and hugely entertaining – and we can’t wait to bring it to the stage.
Director: Lotte Daws

Audition Information
If you’d like to audition, please complete the audition form and indicate which character(s) you’re interested in auditioning for.
There will also be a chorus of female and male singers, so even if a principal role isn’t for you, we’d still love to hear from you.
This production is open to cast members aged 16 and over.
Cast Overview
Suggested ages and vocal ranges are provided as a guide from the publishers only, not hard-and-fast limits. We are keen to cast the best person for each role, so both age and vocal range are flexible.
We’re also looking for a puppeteer for Audrey II, so if you have experience with puppets then we’d love to hear from you!
Seymour Krelborn
An insecure, put-upon florist’s clerk and eventual hero. He is a genuine, well-meaning man who is taken for granted because of his clumsy ways and poor social skills.
- Gender: male
- Age: 25 to 35
- Vocal range: Baritone or Tenor (ideally A2 to G4)
Audrey
Bleached-blond, Billie-Dawn-like, secret love of Seymour’s life. She has poor self-worth and education, but incredibly good looks and a sweet and vulnerable demeanor.
- Gender: female
- Age: 25 to 35
- Vocal range: Mezzo-Soprano (ideally G#3 to D5)
Mr. Mushnik
The seasoned owner of the failing East Side flower shop and Seymour’s nosy boss. He is profit-driven, greedy, and manipulative.
- Gender: male
- Age: 55 to 65
- Vocal range: Baritone (ideally G2 to F4)
Orin Scrivello
An egotistical dentist with a passion for leather and sadistic tendencies. Audrey’s abusive boyfriend, who is targeted by Seymour.
- Gender: male
- Age: 30 to 40
- Vocal range: Baritone (ideally G2 to at least E4)
Voice Of The Plant
An actor/vocalist located offstage. The voice is that of a conniving, street-smart ‘villain.’ A funky Rhythm and Blues voice is best.
- Gender: male
- Age: 20 to 50
- Vocal range: Baritone or Bass (ideally G2 to G4)
Crystal, Ronnette and Chiffon
Three street urchins, acting as the occasional Greek Chorus. Young, hip, and smart, these girls are the only ones who have a grip on reality.
- Gender: female
- Age: 20 to 35
- Vocal range: Mezzo-Sopranos (ideally Ab3 to F5)
Female Chorus (all ages)
We are looking to augment the 3 “street urchins” (Crystal, Ronnette and Chiffon) with a small female chorus (probable two additional sopranos, mezzo-sopranos and altos). We will need to audition for chorus – but please don’t let that put you off; we are happy to hear people sing the opening number in small groups of two or three, if you would be more comfortable with that.
Also, you will be able to learn the harmonies during the two “pre-audition” rehearsals, and they will be available as “guide tracks” for you to sing along at home. There are some great songs, and it can be fun being part of a backing group, so please do come along and give it a try.
Male Chorus (all ages)
Several men required for smaller roles (on stage, some singing) in street scenes etc.

We can’t wait to see you at auditions and to start growing something truly spectacular…
